Newsletter for week of Oct 22nd

Paying attention is a form of reciprocity with the living world, receiving the gifts with open eyes and open heart.

Hi Friends,

The leaves on the ground remind me of last fall and our last practices outside with leaves underfoot. While I will be honest enough to say that I prefer warm feet and predictable environments for my practices and especially for teaching, I cherish the adventure we all had together.

This fall I have been focused on some creative projects and some house projects that we are finally able to do. This is all good, but this last week I was so distracted that I forgot to write a newsletter on Thursday, let alone think about checking to make sure everything was ok with our Zoom classes! I am so sorry about that, thank you so much for your graciousness and flexibility!

Speaking of house projects, I need to cancel class Monday Nov. 1st, a friend of ours is helping us replace the screen on our porch and since this is an all day (or 2) project beginning with us picking up scaffolding to reach our second story porch, I need to be able to start right away. Thank you in advance for understanding.

I took this morning to catch up a bit, and have created new Zoom classes and registered all of you who were registered before. If you want to stop receiving reminder emails every week, let me know and that can be arranged!

I heard from Heather this past week concerning the studio. She said that they planned to start ripping up the remainder of the floor last Friday but the contractors wouldn’t be able to start repairing them for a minimum of 4 weeks. So this doesn’t tell us a whole lot in terms of timing, but at least we know that the project is still moving forward.

I also wanted to share that I ran into Randy Severson last week in a serendipitous  meeting in Menard’s parking lot. He says “hello” to everyone and is hoping to pop in after class to say hello to us all in person. He’s going to have a hip replacement but hopes to be back to class at some point after that. He is still stretching and still smiling and still has a cup of coffee in his hand.

This week I plan to return to the Thursday Newsletter schedule.
